The Schagerl Roman Empire Trumpet is the culmination of more than two years of research and development between Karl Schagerl & Roman Rindberger. After deciding to make the switch from Schagerl's Gansch Horns & Rotary Trumpets to a piston model, Roman & Karl began piecing trumpets together looking to combine the qualities of all three types of instruments.
The breakthrough came with the decision to manufacture their own pistons instead of outsourcing. From there things began to take off and many small changes resulted in the final product. In addition to the proprietary piston developments, new bracing technology was incorporated drastically improving resonance. Unlike conventional bracing, the braces on the Schagerl Roman Empire Trumpet have a small hole in their center which reduces the vibration dampening effect that most braces have on a trumpet.
In the end, the Schagerl Roman Empire Trumpet is the perfect all-around instrument. It plays loudly with less effort, while retaining warmth of tone at all registers and in all playing styles. This particular model is adorned in vintage matte lacquer with gold plated trim, making it truly a site to behold.
